Archimandrite Methodius & the Monastery of Chilandari

In 2018, the Holy Gerontological Synaxis of the Monastery of Chilandari accepted the proposal of Mr. Ioannis Nafpliotis, former president of the "Theophilos" Charitable Organization, for the Holy Monastery of Chilandari to undertake the social work of supporting large families and to continue the work that had been started by the mother of Mr. Ioannis Nafpliotis, Maria Nafpliotou.

In January 2019, the Abbot of the Monastery of Chilandari, Archimandrite Methodius, was appointed as the new president of the "Theophilos" Charitable Organization.

    We provide material and financial assistance to large and three-child families in need, as well as to students from large families.

    We provide advisory services regarding the rights of large and three-child families and the operation of the relevant state and local authorities.

    We raise awareness among public opinion and government agencies about the problems of large families and highlight the
    demographic problem of our country
